Tamzie Louise Brown, born May 29, 1930 to Rossi Ann Collins and Herman Mitchell.

Tamzie married Otis Brown in November 3, 1949 and were together until 2000 when Otis passed away. She worked at Porterville District Schools for many years and knew most of the teachers in the district. Tamzie always enjoyed country and western music and attend many of the numerous country and western dances in the area. After retirement she enjoyed many hours landscaping and attending to the plants in her yard. She definitely earned the nickname “Tammy Scissorhands”.

Preceding her in death were her brother Billy Mitchell, Jack Mitchell and Denny Mitchell.

Tamzie is survived by her daughter Karen Pleasant and Tamzie’s sisters Bettye Ruth Anderson and Bobbi Estes.

A very special thanks to Jerry Holliman for the constant and watchful care he showed to Tamzie.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kumar in Porterville and the doctors and staff at UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica for the compassion and care they gave Tamzie.
