Obituary

Juan Martinez Sanchez quietly passed away January 2, 2023 at his home in Hanford; surrounded by his family as his beloved wife read Psalms 23:1. Juan was born July 2, 1942 in Los Fresnos, Texas to Angel Sanchez and Carmen Martinez. Juan enjoyed life and lived to 80 years of age.

Juan is proceeded in death by his parents Angel Sanchez and Carmen Martinez, as well as his partner Mary Valdez. He is survived by his wife Victoria A. Sanchez, Brothers Joseph Sanchez, George Sanchez his wife Tammy Sanchez, sister Angie (Sanchez) Montemayor, her husband Ernesto Montemayor, son Christopher Sanchez, Stepdaughters Angela Rash, husband James Rash, Anna Jacobs, Diana Aguilar, husband David Aguilar; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.

Juan was a veteran serving his country for six years. He then lived in Southern California where he met his wife Victoria Almanza. They were united in marriage on April 2, 1986. In their younger years, Juan loved to take his wife dancing, short visits with family or friends. Juan loved being a truck driver, seeing all the states and its wonderful glory; but what he loved most was when his wife accompanied him on his journeys. After Juan retired he and his wife moved to McAllen Texas, but decided Texas was not for them, so they moved closer to family in Union, Missouri. There he joined the American Legion, enjoyed life as well as grandkids. He taught some of his grandchildren how to ride his truck which they thought was the best thing ever. In 1998 Juan and his wife moved to Hanford California, which became their permanent home. Juan enjoyed sitting in the garage watching nature, his surroundings, drinking beer and talking to his neighbor Cuco, who then became his best friend. They loved to talk, harass each other, but when one or the other needed help, the other was always there helping without question. Juan will be dearly missed by his family, but never forgotten.
